A Treasure Hunt With A Real Size Sustainability Experience in Abu Dhabi!

The United Arab Emirates is one of the world’s largest consumer of energy, especially in terms of cooling and transportation. Masdar city tries to change that problem by being a carbon-neutral and car-free space.

Masdar city tackles the issue of energy consumption by reorganizing its urban planning to become a carbon-neutral and car-free space. It gives an insight into how to design a sustainable city with low-energy consumption while still providing a comfortable lifestyle.
On this trip:

Participants will take part in a guided tour to experience a ‘real size’ sustainability experiment: They will see the city and a model house. They will then engage in a treasure hunt to apply their newly acquired knowledge of the topics discussed during the tour. Let the best win!

Make the UAE Greener: Kayaking and Cleaning in Eastern Mangroves National Park, Abu Dhabi

Kayak in the Mangroves! The Mangroves in Abu Dhabi form an essential part of our natural ecosystem: they are a source of biodiversity, they naturally control air pollution and they can also grow where no other trees can grow!
TOn this trip:
This field trip, in collaboration with Noukhada Adventure Company, offers a combination of fun and sports to participants while highlighting the importance of this ecosystem. Participants will engage in a clean-up of plastics during and/or after the tour. They will have to form teams and develop strategies to decrease plastic pollution in their daily lives.

Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi

A Sustainable Park in Abu Dhabi

Umm Al Emarat Park is an almost unique example of a sustainable and environmentally friendly park in the UAE. It is designed to include greywater recycling and water saving features, sustainable transportation, conservation features, and organic farming.
On this trip:
Participants in this trip will participate in a scavenger hunt all around the park.

ETHEREAL ART in & PHOTO STUDIO

Creating Sustainable Art in Abu Dhabi

In collaboration with Art Studio by Ethereal, Eedama offers a program entitled “Trash to Treasure” in an Art gallery and photography studio. The gallery currently exhibits different forms of art but is currently moving towards showcasing more sustainable art work to support the green movement.
On this trip:
Participants will be able to reuse material and upcycle them into art pieces thus helping with waste diversion from landfill. Participants will be able to bring their own used items to transform them into pieces of art with the equipment and reusable items found in the Gallery. Their art pieces can then be exhibited in the gallery for a time and collected later, or taken home directly.

Emirates BioFarm between Dubai & Al Ain

Make The UAE Organic: Help An Organic Farm (between Dubai & Al Ain)

Nestled in sand dunes, Emirates Bio Farm lies in the desert, at about 50 min drive from Dubai, with its lush greenery melting in the UAE traditional landscape. In collaboration with the farm, Eedama offers engaging guided tours around the plantations. Participants will be able to learn about organic farming practices adapted to the Gulf environment. The slow food movement will be presented and discussed. Be a farmer for a day and learn permaculture! Emirates Bio Farm, a lush greenery established in the desert, sets an example of organic farming adapted to the Gulf environment.
On this trip:
Participants will take part in a guided tour around the plantations where they will learn about organic farming practices, then engage in a hands-on workshop related to sustainable farming. They will be able to start their own urban home garden. An outdoor activity and a barbecue will be organized on neighboring dunes.

The Al Hefaiyah Wildlife Conservation Center recycles wastewater naturally thanks to its beds of reeds! Reed beds, or constructed wetlands, recycle wastewater naturally through gravel and planted sand.
On this trip:
Participants will be introduced to the UAE’s wildlife as well as the wonders of naturally recycling wastewater. They will observe the whole ecosystem that develops around the reeds. They will take part in a tour of the reed bed, a scientific experiment and a tour of the wildlife center.

Little Reed is a pedagogical farm and local organic restaurant. Make Your Hands Dirty: An Organic Farm that Is A Training Center and a Seed Bank


This place is one of the rare (if not the only) seed bank in Lebanon. A unique combination of people coming from Lebanon, France, and Syria has settled in the Bekaa in order to create a local and international seed bank, as well as a training centre and organic farm working according to the principles of permaculture. The farm is powered by solar panels that are connected to Zahle's electricity grid.

ON THIS TRIP: Make your hands dirty! Receive hands-on training on organic farming (from bio-pesticides to compost making and seedlings) and physically help with the farm. You will have the possibility to taste an authentic meal made with fresh farmed produce and learn all about its origins.

From a piece of land situated above cliffs directly falling in the sea... A family run small farm decided to become an organic productive garden, where anyone can come, pick their own vegetables and buy them. A picnic area with a beautiful view over the sea and sunset completes the gardens.

ON THIS TRIP: Participants will be introduced to organic farming and pick their own vegetables. A collective picnic and some light cooking will follow. Team building outdoors sporty activities will end the day.

Participants will be introduced to climbing (adapted to their level and wish), and in parallel, they will be able to have a yoga session in this beautiful landscape. Participants will then have a combination of games in nature that will allow them to help clean the place.
