On February 14th, 2025, while the world celebrated love, we at Eedama, in collaboration with 3elm, brought a different kind of love to life—love for learning, sustainability, and family connections. As part of TAQA Family Day, we curated an exciting day filled with interactive science shows, engaging workshops, and thrilling activities for children and families alike.
Our task was to design two main journeys for TAQA: Power & Water, crafting an immersive educational experience from start to finish. We developed everything from interactive boards to workshop content, ensuring an engaging and informative journey for all participants.
This event was inspired by TAQA’s remarkable journey in energy and sustainability. Since its founding in 2005, TAQA has grown into a global powerhouse, supplying energy and water to millions. Its roots date back to 1958, when offshore oil was first discovered in Abu Dhabi, marking the beginning of the UAE’s energy journey. TAQA later expanded beyond the UAE in 2006, reaching Europe, Africa, and Asia, further solidifying its global presence. In 2009, TAQA launched Noor Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest solar power plant, generating enough electricity to power 90,000 homes. The 2018 merger with ADPower strengthened TAQA’s position as a leader in energy and water distribution. Today, TAQA is committed to sustainability, aiming to reduce pollution and transition towards cleaner energy sources such as wind and solar power. In 2024, TAQA embraced a new identity as TAQA Distribution, reinforcing its mission to provide smarter, more sustainable energy solutions.
To reflect this incredible journey, we designed the Power and Water Journeys as interactive educational experiences. The Power Journey guided participants through the history of energy in the UAE, highlighting milestones like Noor Abu Dhabi and TAQA’s commitment to renewables. The Water Journey focused on water conservation and distribution, emphasizing sustainable solutions for future generations. These journeys were not just about learning; they were about experiencing the impact of energy and water firsthand.
The event featured science shows that wowed audience with fascinating experiments, a dynamic Water Drum Show that blended rhythm and sustainability awareness, and a Water Race that had participants racing to understand water conservation in a fun and competitive way. Additionally, our Power and Water Journey stations provided hands-on learning experiences, guiding families through essential concepts of energy efficiency, clean water, and sustainable living such as: Solar Ovens, LED cards, Water filters and more.
As sustainability is at the heart of Eedama’s mission, we ensured that every aspect of the event reflected TAQA’s commitment to environmental responsibility. It was inspiring to see families bonding over interactive sustainability challenges, children exploring science with curiosity, and the entire TAQA community coming together to celebrate knowledge and environmental responsibility. This collaboration with TAQA and 3elm was a testament to the power of engaging, experiential learning, reinforcing the importance of sustainability in our everyday lives.
